Mt. Bachelor is known as the Pacific Northwest’s best mountain destination. The ski resort in Bend, Oregon opened in 1958 and has continued to grow in size and popularity over the years. Mt. Bachelor boasts 4,300 skiable acres, 3,365 feet of vertical drop, and 121 unique runs. With its great skiing and snowboarding terrain, Mt. Bachelor is a must-visit winter destination for all enthusiasts.Â
Mt. Bachelor is a mountain that caters to all levels of expertise, from beginners who are just learning how Skiers and Snowboarders should prepare themselves before they enter the slopes or experts looking for some fresh powder on their last run of the winter season. The locals’ favorite lift – Cloudchaser- provides access not only to intermediate terrain but also collects windblown snow, which can be found days after most other locations have seen its snow’s final flake fall down around them.
The Summit Chair on Mt. Bachelor is an unforgettable experience for intermediate skiers and up. Providing 360º views of the surrounding ranges, this lift gives you access to all four quadrants off one run – no other place in America can offer such variety (or beauty) during springtime months.
The Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center has 21 groomed trails covering 56 km of pristine alpine country, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks in the neighboring Three Sisters Wilderness. With a longer season than most other areas, thanks largely due to its well-planned network that begins mid-November until May’s sunshine, it allows for gliding through winter months when many places are closed down or have limited skiing options available.
Mt. Bachelor has everything you need for an unforgettable family vacation – from the long season, reliable snowpack, and expansive terrain to offer plenty of outdoor activities like storm chasing or sunbathing on Mt. Bachelor’s uniquely beautiful landscape.Â
This is an excellent destination for families to enjoy the outdoors, and there are plenty of activities that kids will love too. You can take them snowboarding or skiing if they’re not confident yet, but also have some fun in between lessons with tubing at night time on our mountain slopes – it feels like Christmas when you see all those lights from far away glowing against their white backgrounds while sounding alarms near each lift station telling everyone about upcoming turns.
Mt. Bachelor offers a variety of activities for all skill levels and interests, from beginner snowshoers to those who would like more challenging hikes with fresh air steeped in beauty as they explore both high country trails or downhill runs through forest canopies on their way down.
